On June 26, 2026, Green Packet gave an opportunity to students from UiTM Puncak Alam to join us for an industry visit that focuses on transforming how we live and work: Financial Technology (FinTech). The visit offered students an opportunity to step beyond the classroom and gain a closer look at how FinTech is being applied in the real world. Students were engaged in interactive activities, industry sharing and discussions, to explore how digital innovation is transforming the financial services landscape in Malaysia and beyond.

From Learning to Real-World Insights.

Mr Hamid Rashid, Head of Strategy at Green Packet, led the session, sharing insights on “Capitalizing on Fintech & Digital Innovation to Drive Growth — Malaysia and Beyond”. During the session, the speakers discussed the impact of FinTech on Financial services, ranging from the emergence of digital banking to the creation of innovative financial solutions.

The students were exposed to the core topics such as Islamic FinTech in Malaysia, application of FinTech in Islamic finance, technology-based disruption, and digital transformation of Islamic finance. The conversation also addressed the rise of open banking, open finance and embedded finance and how digitalisation is opening up new opportunities for financial services.

Learning Through Engagement.

In addition to the sharing session, students also participated in an ice-breaking session and group activities, providing them with a more interactive environment to engage, exchange ideas and learn. The activities gave a more interactive touch to the visit, giving students the chance to interact with each other and to see the concepts being discussed in practice.

Connecting people, knowledge, and industry.

Engagement with students and the wider community is an integral part of opportunities for knowledge exchange between industry and academic at Green Packet. The visit offered opportunities to the UiTM students to gain insights into the practical application of the things they learned. It was a chance for Green Packet to exchange industry professionals who will drive digital innovation in the future. As the FinTech landscape continues to change, there are no opportunities to get closer to the FinTech world and close the gap between classroom learning and real-world experiences. Sometimes, the best way to learn what’s going to happen is to simply get out of the classroom.
